There is no meat that is more "keto" than pork! Pork chops are always available, cheep, easy and fast to prepare. Keto pork chops are great food for busy family like ours. Every day we drive our kids at kindergarten, school, different sport or art activities, than we work full time, picking up children and coming home, exhausted and hungry. (And, some of us are breastfeeding too). After a busy day, our bodies crave for nutritious food, rich in fats, vitamins, minerals and some proteins. We feel sleepy and lack of energy. Especially our kids are affected if not getting enough nutrients. First, we see problems in children behavior. Other problems, like diseases, can come later. But, if you see that your child is behaving aggressive, with tantrums, melt downs, sleeping problems, and is not obviously ill, it could be connected with the food. Sometimes, children are eating a loads of calories, but they consists mainly of sugars and lack "building" materials. So, even if your family is not on keto diet, still you can cook this delicious and nutritious meal for them. It will feed their bodies, especially brain. Human brain is nearly 60% fat. So, fatty acids from healthy fats 🙂 are necessary for normal brain function and maintenance of health. Fats cannot be synthesized by our body and must be obtained from dietary sources. Child brain develops until 5-6 years of age. If lacking fats in early age, imagine what problems it can cause for the whole life? As parents, we need to nourish our children brains. Keto pork chops recipe for busy family is here
Pork chops 600 g (6 pork chops with bones, aprox. 500 g of pure meat for family of 3 adults or 2 parents and 2 smaller children)
Onion 50 g (unpeeled, 40 g of peeled)
Fresh red bell pepper 200 g or 1 big red bell pepper (170 g when removed non eatable parts)
Cauliflower 250 g
Olive oil 5 TBS
Butter - 6 TBS
Salt
Pepper
Grounded red paprika
Procedure
Season pork chops with salt, pepper and grounded red paprika from both sides, put olive oil on top and put it in preheated oven on 180 C with vent. Set the timer on 15 minutes.
While pork chops are in the oven, prepare the vegetables, cut it and season with salt, pepper, grounded red paprika and olive oil.
After 15 minutes, add vegetables. Set the timer for 10 minutes more.
After 10 minutes, check the meat and turn it to other side for 10 more minutes.
Add ! TBS of butter on top of the meat. Serve it with some green leafy salad seasoned with salt, olive oil and cider vinegar. For salad inspiration, click here.
