This time I share with you my favorite recipe for keto Bolognese ragu with sausages that I cook very often to my family. Meat sauce and sausages! Ingredients for keto Bolognese ragu with sausages
2 TBS lard or olive oil
1 large onion
1 shredded carrot or cut into small cubes
2 cloves of garlic or 1 teaspoon garlic powder
500 g ground beef
2 Italian sausages (300 g) cut into small pieces
Fresh parsley finely chopped to your taste
Fresh basil leaves finely chopped to your taste
Dry oregano 1 tsp
2 dry bay leaves
1 cup (250 ml) pure tomato sauce
1 cup (250 ml) cold water or beef broth if using instant pot. If cooking on a classic way you will need at least 2 cups (500 ml).
2 teaspoon salt
Fresh pepper ½ tbs
Red paprika 1 TBS
How to make Keto Bolognese ragu with sausages
Melt lard or heat olive oil in a large pot or in an instant/pressure pot or in a slow cooker. You can choose how you like to cook, it works all the ways.
Add onion, carrot, meat and sausage and stir well.
When onion golden brown and meat caramelized, add garlic, salt, pepper, dry paprika and other spices and herbs and stir well.
Pour in tomato and water or broth and cover it and let it cook for at least 1 hour. Longer is better! If cooking in instant pot, 30 minutes on right pressure will be enough but longer is better. Longer cooking will extract more taste and flavors will combine better. Slow cooking is the best option for making this keto bolognese ragu with sausages perfect. But if you are busy and need to make a delicious and nutritious meal for the whole family quickly, this keto ragu will be great even from the instant pot. I make it most often in the instant pot, just to save the time and feed my family quickly.
When keto Bolognese ragu with sausages cooked serve it with Shirataki or miracle noodles, zoodles or with tasty cauliflower mash or with broccoli mash. I recommend you this recipe for broccoli mash and this one for cauliflower mash.
Don't forget to grate Parmigiano Reggiano cheese on top! Without Parmigiano it is not the same, just not complete.
