I love halloumi! I bake it on a pan very often with eggs and leafy greens and eating as a healthy low carb breakfast or light and nutritious after work out lunch. Halloumi wrapped in prosciutto prepared on a skillet is even better. Salty and flavorful prosciutto is going so great with chewy halloumi cheese. You have to try!
HOW TO PREPARE PROSCIUTTO WRAPPED HALLOUMI?
This is one of the easiest dishes to prepare! You will need 3 ingredients only and a skillet!
HALLOUMI – prepare halloumi first. Literally, you will just have to cut it in slices or sticks, depending on how big halloumi cheese you have and the shape you would like to get.
PROSCIUTTO SLICES – for this easy halloumi and prosciutto bites you will need any prosciutto you can find. When halloumi wrapped in prosciutto cooked in a skillet, taste is amazing, even with cheaper prosciutto. You don’t need to spend a fortune to enjoy this dish.
OLIVE OIL – when frying halloumi cubes or sticks wrapped in prosciutto, I use extra virgin olive oil. That’s a real Mediterranean way and the most delicious. After cooking, olive oil leftovers are wonderful base you can immediately use to fry veggies like zucchini or onion and peppers. Just season them with some salt and pepper and fry on remaining oil. Veggies will soak that wonderful and healthy oil plus it will take the prosciutto aroma and flavor. You can serve it as a side dish.
HOW TO SERVE KETO HALLOUMI WRAPPED IN PROSCIUTTO?
As I wrote earlier, you can use remaining frying olive oil and cook on it some veggies like zucchini, onion, pepper, mushrooms, cherry tomato or something else you like.
Also, you can prepare it as a halloumi and prosciutto salad. That’s my favorite summer way to prepare. Just take some leafy greens, like green lettuce, baby spinach or arugula. For dressing you can use salt, pepper, olive oil and lemon juice. That’s my favorite. However, you can be creative and use the dressing you like the best!

- Halloumi cheese 225 g/8 oz
- Prosciutto 6 slices 100 g/3.5 oz
- Olive oil 1 TBS
- Cut halloumi cheese to 6 parts.
- Wrap halloumi with prosciutto slices.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet and cook wrapped halloumi for 30 sec to 1 minute on each side or until prosciutto is golden brown on the edges.
- Serve hot with veggies or salad.
